Bang & Olufsen are not known for their shyness when it comes to pricing their products, and the new Beosound Balance is no exception. Weighing in at $2,250 RRP this is not a speaker for everyone.
The fabric covered cylinder houses two 2″ full range drivers, two 3″ full range rivers and one 3/4″ tweeter, it sits upon a solid oak base, which houses two 5.25″ bass drivers. Active room compensation optimizes the output of the sound based upon the acoustics of your room layout.
Touch controls on top of the unit respond to your presence and only appear when you approach the speaker.
Connectivity wise the Beosound Balance boasts Bluetooth 5.0, AirPlay 2, Chromecast audio and a standard 3.5mm aux in. Hands-free control is available with built-in Google Assistant functionality.
The speaker features a beautiful minimalist Scandinavian inspired design and was created in collaboration with London based designer Benjamin Hubert of Layer Design. Two colors are available, natural oak and solid black.
